Start of Phase 1 for the expansion of water purification facilities on the Duong River

(Engine Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong reporter = A movement has begun to improve the water supply capacity of the Duong River in Vietnam.

On Thursday, the Vietnamese government announced that it had launched the first phase of the project to expand water purification facilities on the Duong River.

The project is aimed at expanding the water purification facility, which is located on the Duong River and has been in operation since 2018, from the daily capacity of 150,000㎥ to 300,000㎥.

The water treatment facilities currently in operation are supplying constants to Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Long Bien, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai and Thanh Tri, and it is expected that the expansion will allow about 3 million residents to receive the home of the water supply facilities.

Meanwhile, the project has been carried out on a private-equity basis since 2016, with a plan to expand daily processing capacity to 600,000㎥ by 2023, and a continued expansion of the project is expected.
