(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong reporter = Construction begins on the inland highway project linking north and south of Vietnam.

The new inland highway, which will enter the construction, is one of the three inter highway projects that will be divided into three sections, a 98㎞ section linking the Quang Tri and Tua Tien Hue.

The Vietnamese government aims to complete the related project in 2021, and expects it to be built with four round-trip lanes and a maximum 80㎞/h highway after completion, setting the stage for the development of transportation in the central part of the country.

Meanwhile, in addition to the project, the Vietnamese government plans to speed up the construction of an additional section of the 2,000㎞ inter highway, which is extended in total, by 2025.
