(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = Thai companies are expanding their influence in the Vietnamese water market.

According to sources in Vietnam, Thailand's WHA Utility and Power Plc have secured a 34% stake in the water treatment facility on the Duong River.

The newly acquired stake is reportedly worth $89.35 million, which was completed on Oct. 25.

The water treatment facility on the Duong River, currently in operation, is a 0.3million㎥ water treatment facility a day, and is planning to expand it to 1.2million㎥ by 2030.

After the expansion is completed in the future, it is expected to be able to supply water to three million people, about one-third of Hanoi's population.
