(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The Great National Road, which was vulnerable to flooding of the Mekong River, is expected to be improved.

According to sources in Vietnam, the government has announced plans to proceed with the project to improve the Mekong Delta area.

The plan will be carried out on 26 sections of the National Road on Line 1 in the Delta and will be carried out in areas where flooding problems occur frequently during the rainy season.

The Vietnamese government plans to spend $8.6 million on the project, and the project will first be carried out by injecting about $900,000 into the 1-kilometer section of the Tam Binh area.

Meanwhile, in 2021, when the project is completed, it expects to reduce flood damage as the height of the road has increased by about 0.6-0.7 meters.
