(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The Vietnamese government is moving to extend the building of Dong Hui Airport in the central part of the country.

According to sources in Vietnam, the Vietnamese government has proposed the expansion of the Dong Hoi airport to the Vietnamese corporation, ACV.

Currently, the Dong Hoi airport was reconstructed in 2008 with a 1.73 million square-meter capacity to accommodate 500,000 passengers a year. However, the recent increase in tourists has left more than 200,000 people with adequate accommodation.

The Vietnamese government reportedly proposed to the ACV a plan to increase passenger capacity to 2 million.

As a result, attention is being paid to whether the Dong Hoi airport project, which has been pursued since last year, will become visible.
