(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = Attention is focusing on whether the highway linking northern Vietnam can start.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung recently approved the construction of a highway in northern Vietnam, according to a Vietnamese source.

The project will be connected to the existing NoI BaI-Lao KaI highway, about 40 kilometers longer on the road connecting Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho.

Currently, the Vietnamese government estimates that the project will cost about $ 144 million, of which $ 119 million will be privately funded by the BOT, and the rest will be provided through government spending.

After completion in 2023, a four-lane road with 80 kilometers per hour will be operated by the private sector until 2042.

On the other hand, the Vietnamese government hopes the related business will help deal with the ever-increasing volume of goods in northern Vietnam.
