(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The project to expand Ca Maau Airport in southern Vietnam is expected to take its first step.

According to local sources in Vietnam, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has submitted an investment plan for the expansion of Ca Maau Airport to the Transport Ministry.

The project is to expand Ca Maau Airport from 2021 to 2025, in line with the Vietnamese government's basic plan to develop the aviation sector.

The ACV plans to start expanding the airport based on a report written between 2012 and 2019.

Accordingly, Ca Maau Airport, which had stayed at 30,000 to 38,000 passengers per year from 2012 to 2019, expects to increase its passenger capacity by 4 percent annually from 2021 to 2025, expanding to 40,000 passengers per year.
