Vietnamese Government Approves Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1

(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The Vietnamese government is making the Long Thanh International Airport business visible.

According to local sources in Vietnam, the Vietnamese government has approved the first phase of the project to expand Long Thanh International Airport.

The first phase of the project, which runs through 2025, will include a 4㎞-long, 75m-wide runway and a 373,000㎡ passenger terminal capable of handling 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons a year.

The Vietnamese government plans to carry out the project in three stages by 2040, and expects that four runways, 100 million passengers per year, and a terminal capable of accommodating 5 million tons of cargo will be built to become a hub airport in southern Vietnam.
