Construction of wastewater collection and treatment system in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city

HANOI, July 18 (Engineering Daily) -- The purpose of project is to collect and treat the wastewater for 125,000 residents and about 300 small and medium enterprises; to improve the water quality at lakes and rivers in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city.

The Prime Minister has agreed in principle to sign the financial agreement for project “Construction of the wastewater collection, treatment and re-use system in Phan Rang-Thap Cham City” to  receive the non-refundable aid from the Netherland Government in the framework of the Infrastructure Development Facility (ORIO).

The Prime Minister has assigned the Ninh Thuan People’s Committee to coordinate to Minister of Planning and Investment and Representative of Dutch Enterprise to expedite to sign the Agreement to receive the abovementioned aid for the project.

The Ninh Thuan People’s Committee is to review and cut the unnecessary cost to ensure the investment efficiency; to coordinate with Minister of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance and related agencies to prepare the feasible counterpart fund allocation plan and submit to Prime Minister for review and approval.

The purpose of project is to collect and treat the wastewater for 125,000 residents and about 300 small and medium enterprises; to improve the water quality at lakes and rivers in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city; to support the small and medium enterprises in the environmental protection.

Also, to enhance the institutional and technical capacity in operational and maintenance activities of the wastewater collection and treatment system; to apply a sufficient wastewater treatment technology; to reuse treated wastewater for the agriculture and rural development purposes in the adjacent areas.
