Japan to continue aid to Vietnam in infrastructure development

HANOI, SEPTEMBER 7 (Engineering Daily) -- The diplomatic note about ODA loan of JPY 11 billion from Japan government within fiscal year of 2016 has been signed in Hanoi between Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Trung and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada.

This financial aid is to help improve socio-economic infrastructure and the competitiveness of the national economy, enhancing the competition capacity of economy, creating favorable conditions for Vietnam to attract foreign investment and international integration.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister Trung hailed Japan as Vietnam’s biggest bilateral ODA supplier, pledging that the ODA will be used effectively, contributing to further deepening the bilateral economic strategic partnership.

According to Ministry of Planning and Investment, Japan has been always a biggest donor since Japan restarted in 1992. The ODA loans through diplomatic note signed is about JPY 2,800 billion.
