HANOI, December 5 (Engineering Daily) -- Although accelerating the Road 91C Project is urgent to meet the development needs. the budget of the local government is shortage. For this reason Can Tho calls for BOT investment.

According to the Can Tho Transport Department, the new road is expected to be named 91C, totaling VND 15,000 billion in BOT form. The route, which is located in the west of the city, is the external axis, connecting all industrial parks with Cai Cui port.

The road 91C is 30km long, with 25 bridges and 9 intersections; the beginning point interchanging with National Highway 91 in O Mon district, connecting with National Highway 61C in Cai Rang district and ending at the intersection with Nam Song Hau road, at the entrance to Cai Cui port. The road width as planned is 80m, of which 32m section at the center will be reserved later as a metro. The payback period is 30 years.

According to the Can Tho City People's Committee, the locality has had the idea of making this route for 10 years, but due to difficult budget conditions and traffic demand, it was not urgent so it was delayed.

"With the current momentum, the traffic pressure of the city is very high, so the project becomes more urgent, but because the budget is still difficult, the local government wants to call for investment in the form of BOT”, Can Tho leaders said.

Recently, some South Korean investors have come to work with Can Tho City to study and research on this project to determine the investment potential.
