HANOI, March 16 (Engineering Daily) -- The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has reported to the Ministry of Transport about selecting of the basic design consultancy of the passenger terminal on the first phase of the Long Thanh International Airport Project.

During the recruitment process, the Evaluation Council selected three architectural options with the highest vote including the option LT-07 (coconut leaf model) of the Singapore-Vietnam-Japan Consultant Alliance, the option LT-03 (lotus model) of Heerim Architects & Planners- Korean consultant, and the option LT-04 (bamboo furniture) of the Japan-France Consultant Alliance.

According to ACV, the LT-03 option (Lotus) is the most suitable. ACV also proposed the separation of the Long Thanh International Airport Project into two packages, of which the basic design consultancy bid package would be designated for contractor (as stipulated in Article 22 of the Bidding Law) from Heerim Architects & Planners. The feasibility study consultancy bid for the whole project (excluding passenger station section) will be held internationally.

On that basis, the Ministry of Transport has requested ACV as the investor of the project to actively negotiate with the winner of the architecture for Passenger Terminal Long Thanh International Airport Project to carry out procedures as prescribed.
