Investment report to build My Thuy seaport, Quang Tri province

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has just commented on the verification of investment policy report for My Thuy port construction project, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province.

Hanoi, July 3 (Engineering Daily) -- Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to guide the Quang Tri People's Committee in preparing the dossier and organizing the implementation of procedures for environmental impact assessment of the My Thuy port project, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province in accordance with the law on environmental protection.

The Quang Tri People's Committee shall study and adopt the opinions of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's appraisal comments on the environmental impact assessment of the project to complete the pre-feasibility study report. 

The MPI shall expeditiously re-evaluate the capital sources and the capital-balancing capability of the project. On the basis of the results of the capital appraisal and the capital balancing capability of the project and the pre-feasibility study report, the MPI shall review and finalize the contents of the investment evaluation report to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision according to the provisions of law.

The My Thuy sea port, Quang Tri province, has been planned for development until 2020 with orientation to 2030 in the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1037 / QD-TTg dated June 24, 2014.

Accordingly, My Thuy wharf area is a potential seaport with the main function of serving industrial parks and transiting goods to Laos and Northeastern Thailand. The scale and development process must be in line with the market demand, investors' ability to mobilize capital and ensure the synchronization of infrastructure connected to the port (especially the inlet and dykes).
