Korean Financed Panguil Bay Bridge Construction Starts Next Month

Manila, October 12 (Engineering Daily) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 10 reported Panguil Bay Bridge(PBB) construction begins next month.

PBB is to be financially supported by the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund. The cost of PBB project is PHP7.352 billion.

It is reported that DPWH has certified the road right-of-way for the construction of the bridge's approaches and access roads. Furthermore, the bidding process has been completed late last month. Eventually, the contract will be signed on October 13-16 and the official construction is expected to be on 28th of this month.

The bridge is designed to be 3.7km and it ranges from Misamis Oreintal, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, to Surigao del Norte.

It is anticipated that the driving time between Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental will shorten to seven minutes from an hour and a half by water vehicles e.g. ferry.

The completion date is set on October 2021.
