Hanoi, November 28 (Engineering Daily) -- The Minister of Transport has requested Vietnam Road Administration(VRA), Vietnam Maritime Administration(VMA), and Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam(CAAV) to complete development schemes for road, seaport, and aviation by April 2019.

The key schemes are 6 in total. The VRA is to build 4 schemes on transport development, the VMA to build 1 scheme on Haiphong's seaports, and the CAAV to build 1 scheme Long Thanh International Airport.

However, it is speculated that heavy amount of capital for transport infrastructure development is necessary for the coming years. The transport sector is assumed to receive USD8.6 billion worth of public investment in 2016-2020, but this only satisfies 30% of the initial demand.

Meanwhile, the capital comprises of state fund, domestic loans through BOT, and ODA; 40%, 30%, 30%.
