Vung Tau City, 2035 Plan Focusing on Eco-Friendly•Tourism

Hanoi, December 7 (Engineering Daily) -- The development plan to 2035 of Vung Tau city in Ba Ria-Vung Tau has been revised. It is newly planned to convert the city into an environment friendly and the hub of tourism, finance, and trade.

The plan ranges in various sectors from urban planning, public transport system, to strategic environmental evaluation and response to climate change and rising sea levels.

Currently, it is tourism that the province Department of Tourism has officially addressed a specific plan. It targets 8.6 million visitors by 2025, annual average growth rate of 11-13%, establishing 16,000 high-standard hotel rooms, and creating 38,000 new jobs.

It has recorded 6.5 million tourists and earned USD123 million in tourism during the first half of this year according to the province Department of Tourism report, so it is said the plan by 2025 is realistic among the related associates.

Besides tourism, the city has strained to develop high-tech agriculture that would produce high-quality products at high yields. Furthermore, about 50 companies have submitted proposals to invest in high-tech agricultural projects on a total of 5,000ha.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau region is located in the South East and the four key sectors in the province are seaport logistics, high-tech industrial production, tourism, and high-tech agriculture.
