Korea in Vietnam, the Most Influential Investor

Hanoi, December 11 (Engineering Daily) -- The influence of Korea as an investor has been dominant in Vietnam and it is expected to keep the momentum in the future.

Approximately 7,000 Korean businesses has been investing in Vietnam and furthermore it is USD100 billion that two-way trade of Vietnam and Korea is expected to reach by 2020.

The data release of the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment over the past 5 years show that the number of Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) projects in Vietnam has increased. This includes registered capital and implemented capital.  It is USD35-40 billion that Vietnam attracts in FDI on average and it was USD48 billion over the first 11 months of this year that both registered and implemented capitals have flowed into Vietnam.

In particular, Korea is the leading partner of Vietnam ranking the first in FDI and the second in ODA.

As of November, 2018, the registered capital of Republic of Korea has amounted to USD62.2 billion and this accounts for 18.4% of the total registered FDI in Vietnam.

The fields Korean enterprises prefer being involved in are process-manufacturing and real estate.
