(Engineering daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = CAAV(The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam) have recommended for lengthening the runway at the airport on Con Dao.
Con Dao airport can handle only ATR72 turboprop aircraft and 80-seat Fokker 70S.
But Con Dao airport received more than 286,000 visitors in 2018, up 17.3% from 2017.
CAAV suggested extending the runway from 1,830m to 2,400m, and building a new terminal to increase the airport’s annual capacity from 0.4million to 2million.
The cost of all this is estimated at $503.4 million.
