(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong: The project to extend subway line 2, which was to be built in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is expected to be delayed.
Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh People's Committee said yesterday that it has asked the Ministry of Strategy and Finance to extend air and expand funds for the extension of subway line 2.
The project, which began in 2016 with an injection of about $58.7 million, will be carried out with ADB and state funds.
On the reasons for the delay, Ho Chi Minh City says inflation is the main reason for the delay, and the project, which is currently running at just 4%.
Accordingly, the extension project, which was aimed at completing the project in 2021, will be carried out with the aim of completing it in 2026.
