(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = A preliminary feasibility study for the construction of Line 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is expected to begin soon.

According to local sources, the Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR), the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, has asked the Ministry of Economy and Finance to approve a preliminary feasibility study for the construction of Line 5.

The project will connect the Haien intersection and the Saigon Bridge, with $1.7 billion to be spent to build a total of eight stations.

Ho Chi Minh City plans to start construction in 2025, complete in 2029, and start full-scale operation in 2030.

Meanwhile, the project plans to finance loans from the Spanish government, (ADB)the Asian Development Bank, EIB(the European Investment Bank), and the GDB(German Development Bank).
