The main cause of the delay in the project is COVID-19, which is analyzed to be due to restrictions on access to Vietnam by Japanese supervisory personnel and equipment.
In fact, 18 of the Japanese construction company's employees were scheduled to arrive in Vietnam in March, but COVID-19 is said to have limited entry.
As a result, the Ho Chi Minh Subway Line 1 project, which had been expected to operate commercial operations within the year, is likely to change its schedule for more than a few months.
