(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The Vietnamese government and the Civil Aviation Administration have started to expand Hanoi airport.
According to a local source in Vietnam, CAAV, a civil aviation agency, has submitted a plan to expand Hanoi's airport to the Vietnamese government.
The plan is to build more runways and passenger terminals, which will be carried out by 2030.
CAAV estimates that demand at Hanoi's airports in 2030 will reach 63 million passengers and 2 million tons of cargo per year.
Accordingly, if Terminal 3 is built, it expects to accommodate an additional 30 million people a year to meet the expected demand.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese government plans to expand the annual passenger capacity of Hanoi's airport to 100 million by 2050, and the cargo capacity to 5 million tons.
