(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The Ho Chi Minh Subway Line 2 project in Vietnam reduces outside funding.
According to local sources in Vietnam, the Vietnamese government has decided to reduce the amount of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) loans for the Ho Chi Minh Line 2.
The Ho Chi Minh Subway Line 2 project was to receive about $150 million in loans from the ADB for an 11-kilometer extension linking Ben Thanh and Tham Luong.
The Vietnamese government plans to leave the right to decide on funds for the project to Ho Chi Minh City.
Currently, the total cost of the project is estimated at about $2 billion, up $900 billion from the previous year, with Germany's state-run banks and European investment banks remaining as major investors.
