(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is working on a port development plan.
According to local sources in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is considering developing a port for container ships in the Can Gio area.
The project will be built to accommodate 30,000-20,000 DWT container vessels with a capacity of 100-250 hectares.
Ho Chi Minh City is reportedly speeding up to keep pace with the 2021-2030 Port Development Plan, while conducting feasibility studies with a consulting firm on related matters.
The Vietnamese government and Ho Chi Minh City expect to play a role as a trade hub while establishing an inland water transportation hub if related projects are formalized.
