HANOI, OCTOBER 2 (Engineering Daily) -- Investment of USD 95 million is likely to be used for building a route connecting Highway 91 and bypass route of Long Xuyen city in Vietnam.
The project will include 15.3 km of bypass route of Long Xuyen city and 2 km of route to connecting Highway 91 to bypass route.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment has proposed to the Prime Minister to approve the project of road connecting Highway 91 and bypass route of Long Xuyen city and implement the pre-investment activities using the surplus capital of Central Mekong Delta Region connectivity project granted by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Australian Government.
Reportedly, the project will include 15.3 km of bypass route of Long Xuyen city (starting point linking to Vam Cong bridge from Highway 80 to intersection Lo Te, ending point at intersection in Highway 91); and 2 km of road connecting from Highway 91 to bypass route. The total investment is of USD 94.58 million including ADB loan of USD 93.78 million and non-refundable aid of the Australian Government of USD 0.1 million.
Earlier, as directed by Ministry of Transport, in USD 93.78 million, USD 50.68 million will be used for construction, USD 24.92 million for site clearance, USD 6.11 million for consulting services and 10.23 million for provision.
If approved, the project will be implemented during 28 months (Quarter 1 of 2018 to Quarter 2 of 2020). The project will contribute to improve the operational capacity and overall efficiency of entire Central Mekong Delta Region connectivity project.
