HANOI, DECEMBER 27 (Engineering Daily) -- According to the Decision No. 6185/QD-BCT of Ministry of Industry and Trade on approval for “Wind energy development plan in Quang Tri province up to 2020 with a vision toward 2030”, Quang Tri will have 4 wind farms.
Accordingly, there will be 3 zones planned including Zone 1 in communes of Huong Son, Huong Lap and Huong Phung (Huong Hoa district) with an area of 2,789 ha; Zone 2 with communes of Huong Linh, Huong Lap and Huong Hiep (Huong Hoa district) with an area of 2,882 ha; and Zone 3 with communes of Gio Viet, Gio Hai and Gio Thanh (Gio Linh district), Vinh Tan commune and coastal surface water in Vinh Linh and Con Co district with an area of 1,036 ha.
The total planned area of 3 Zones mentioned above is of 6,707 ha.
From this plan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will issue the list of 4 projects that is expected to develop by 2020 including Wind farm Huong Phung 1 (Huong Do) with capacity of 30 MW; Wind farm Huong Phung 2 (Doa Cu, Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district) with capacity of 20 MW; Wind farm Huong Linh 1 (Xa Bai) and Wind farm Huong Linh 2 (Hoong Coc, Huong Linh commune, Huong Hoa district) with capacity of 30 MW.
The target of this plan is to reach a cumulative installed capacity of 110 MW and wind power output of 287 million kWh by 2020.
