HANOI, September 13 (Engineering Daily) -- Speaking at the press conference on September 12 afternoon, leaders of Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment affirmed that the implementation of bridge construction projects across the Red River and the Duong River in the form of a BOT contract is appropriate in the current time.
Specifically, according to Vu Duy Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, the city is constructing bridges over the Red River and the Duong River, including the Tu Lien bridge construction project and the approach road linking Tu Lien bridge to Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway; Duong bridge No. 2 and a road connecting Bac Ninh province; Tran Hung Dao bridge tunnel across the Red River; Giang Bien bridge; and Vinh Tuy bridge construction project (Phase 2).
Recently, the Government has directed to mobilize resources in investment projects to build infrastructure to minimize public debt, so the Ha Noi People’s Committee has chosen the form of BOT contract to mobilize investment capital for construction of the above five projects. According to the estimate, the total investment capital of five bridge projects amounted to over VND 38,000 billion. Therefore, the choice of BOT investment form for bridge projects is appropriate at present.
