HANOI, March 20 (Engineering Daily) -- According to the statistic of the Ministry of Planning and Investment's Foreign Investment Department, as of February 2018, South Korea has 6,701 valid foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of $ 58.8 billion, ranked first among 126 countries and territories invested in Vietnam.
Only in the first two months of 2018, Vietnam has 147 new projects of Korean investors with registered capital of more than 243 million, together with 38 projects with registered capital increased by $ 272 million and 237 share capital contributions with capital contribution of $ 335 million.
Therefore, the total FDI capital of Korean investors investing in Vietnam in the first two months of 2018 reached more than $ 851 million. With this result, South Korea continues to affirm its position as the No.1 investor in Vietnam.
The wave of investment from Korea to Vietnam is forecast to continue in the coming time, according to the Foreign Investment Department.
