Up-to-Date Aftermath of Typhoon Mangkut

Manila, September 28 (Engineering Daily) -- Typhoon Mangkut smote Baggao, Cagayan, in the north-eastern Philippines on 15 September 2018. It recorded wind speeds of 205 km/h and gusts of 255 km/h. It was the most toughest typhoon in Philippines this year and since Typhoon Haiyan in 2013.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(NDRRMC) announced that families affected by the weather disturbance has now climbed to 507,945. They are equivalent to 2,140,966 individuals according to the 6 a.m. update last Sep 23, 2018 signed by NDRRMC executive

Also, a total of 117,685 houses were reported to be damaged and among them 10,334  were devastated and the damage to agriculture is placed at PHP14,339,237,631.02

The Department of Public Works and Highways(DPWH) reported that the initial damage cost of infrastructure by Typhoon Mangkut approximates to PHP 7billion

It added that the biggest damage was inflicted on flood control structures and it amounts to PHP5.278 billion.

Meanwhile, as of 12 noon, Wednesday, September 26, 2018, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that clearing operation are still being conducted in Luzon, which are still closed to traffic.
