Hanoi, October 17 (Engineering Daily) -- Currently, Noi Bai international airport accommodates 21 million passengers per year but the capacity is to be expanded gradually.
Noi Bai international airport is located in Hanoi, Vietnam and accommodates 21 million passengers per year. But the airport passenger exceeded to 24 million in 2017.
This has inflicted pressure on terminals, parking lots, logistics areas and internal/external transportation infrastructure.
Hanoi Transport Planning has proposed expansion of the airport to solve the problem. It has scheduled for Noi Bai international airport to have 20-25 million passengers per year by 2020; additionally, up to 35 million and 50 million passengers by 2030 and 2050.
The Ministry of Transport has been planning to involve scientists to calculate the planned expansion of Noi Bai airport to support 80-100 million passengers per year.
