Manila, October 24 (Engineering Daily) -- At 44th Philippine Business Conference and Expo on Friday, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda announced that three railway projects under Special Terms for Economic Partnership (STEP) of the Japanese government in Philippine will be officially signed between Philippine and Japan.
The three projects are Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) rehabilitation project, NSCR(North South Commuter Railway) extension, and Metro Manila subway and they are going to be constructed this year.
The railway projects will be under the Special Terms for Economic Partnership(STEP) of the Japanese government and the two projects MRT-3 rehabilitation project and Metro Manila subway will be funded by JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency)
Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) rehabilitation project costs 38 billion yen and the two projects are expected to be $3.72 billion dollars and $7.05 billion dollars respectively.
