Investment of VND 8,743 billion to build Expressway section Huu Nghi Border Gate-Chi Lang

HANOI, June 16 (Engineering Daily) -- The Minister of MOT has just approved the Hanoi-Lang Son Expressway project, section Huu Nghi border gate-Chi Lang invested by Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC).

The project that is 43 km long, with the start point at Km1+800 at Dong Dang Town, Cao Loc District; the end point at Km44+749.67 at Chi Lang District, Lang Son Province, will be built under the scale of 4 lane expressway and design speed of 80 Km/h.

The total investment is of VND 8,743 billion, including VND 8,655.7 billion from ADB loans.

The MOT has assigned VEC to finalize the financial plan based on loan conditions, fund structure, abovementioned total investment and relevant documents (business financial statement and charter capital and so on) to submit the Ministry of Finance and Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) to review the financial capacity of VEC, financial efficiency assessment and debt clearance plan.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had approved the list of Expressway Hanoi-Lang Son project, section Huu Nghi border gate-Chi Lang.

The Prime Minister has assigned Ministry of Finance to coordinate with other relevant Ministries and Departments to establish the financial structure for project including re-lending or allocating the preferential ADB loans for site clearance; Vietnam Development Bank to review the finance and debt clearance capacity of the owner.

The investment of Expressway Hanoi-Lang Son is to meet the needs of transportation in Lang Son province in particular and Northeast region in general, promoting the economic society development; to complete the Trans-Asia corridor section Lang Son-Hanoi before 2020; to reinforce the connection of Trans-Asia corridor route thru Vietnam territory from Lang Son-Hanoi-HCMC-Moc Bai, contributing to the key economic development of the North and Northern Midlands and Mountainous; to create the good condition for Vietnam trade gateway to China and Southeast Asia.

Recently, the Expressway section Hanoi-Bac Giang and Bac Giang-Lang Son has invested under BOT model, so the funding for remaining routes at Km1 + 800 - Km45 +100 for synchronizing is necessary.
