HANOI, AUGUST 22 (Engineering Daily) -- The Prime Minister has directed about contractor selection in the special case to implement the investment and construction of the extension Hoa Binh hydropower plant project.
In particular, the Prime Minister has agreed to apply the contractor selection form in the special case in accordance with Article 26, Bidding Law to implement the consultant service package for investment and construction of the extension Hoa Binh hydropower plant project (surveying and feasibility study report; surveying and Technical Design and Detail Design).
The Prime Minister has requested Vietnam Electricity to study and collect the opinions from Minister of Planning and Investment about contractor selection procedures during implementation of investment and construction consulting packages; to be responsible totally in contractor selection in the special case to meet the requirement of the capacity and experience ensuring the quality, progress and efficiency.
Power is generated by utilizing eight turbines with a capacity of 240 MW, totalling the installed capacity to 1,920 MW. it now produces approximately 27% of Vietnam's electricity
It measures 128m in height, and 970m in length. The facility is owned by Vietnam Electricity, and produces up to 8,160 GWh of power annually. Construction on the rockfill dam began in November 1979 and was completed in 1994.
