HANOI, May 22 (Engineering Daily) -- The HCM City People's Committee has assigned the People's Committee of District 6, District 8 and Binh Chanh District to implement compensation and clearance works to build Binh Tien bridge (from Pham Van Chi street to Nguyen Van Linh street).

Accordingly, Binh Tien bridge road project will be officially restarted after 7 years of stagnation. Prior to that, in 2010, the investor proposed a plan for land conversion for infrastructure to implement the project but failed to reach an agreement.

Recently, the Binh Tien bridge construction project has been approved, invested by 4 investors under BT model.

Phase 1 is invested by Dong Tam Construction Manufacture Trading Service Company Limited and 319 Corporation. It includes bridge construction items, from Pham Van Chi street (District 6) to Ta Quang Buu street (District 8). The project that is 1,413 m long (including Binh Tien bridge and two approach roadways), is invested with a total capital of about VND 2,604 billion.

Phase 2 from Ta Quang Buu street (District 8) and Nguyen Van Linh street (Binh Chanh District) is implemented by Licogi 16 JSC and Binh Chanh Construction Investment JSC. This section is approximately 1,805 m long with an investment of about VND 903 billion.

When completed, Binh Tien bridge will cross the Tau Hu canal and the Doi canal, contributing to reduce the traffic pressure on Vo Van Kiet street, Nguyen Van Linh street and simultaneously reducing the overload for the Cha Va bridge.
