HANOI, December 15 (Engineering Daily) -- The public investment plan for 2018 has just been approved by HCM City People's Council with total capital of nearly VND 40,000 billion. Accordingly, in the coming year, HCM City will continue to focus on projects to reduce traffic congestion and environmental pollution and programs in the fields of education and health.
The capital for public investment in 2018 of the city consisted of the central budget of VND 843 billion and the ODA loan of VND 2,864 billion. And the capital of the city budget accounted for the rest, about VND 36,165 billion.
Accordingly, in order to reduce traffic congestion, the city government has planned to increase additional road area up to 280,000㎡, build 8 more bridges, urgently complete the items of the metro line project and develop the bus network with the capacity to transport 600 million passengers per year.
The Representative of HCM City Department of Transport said that the city has allocated VND 11,600 billion for the investment priority program to reduce traffic jams in 2016-2017. In the next three years (2018 - 2020), the city needs VND 41,000 billion more.
According to a report of the HCM City People's Committee, in 2017 the city's budget revenue reached VND 347,982 billion, up nearly 13% from 2016. In 2018, the city aims to gain VND 376,780 billion, up 8.28 % from 2017.
