Smart Urban development Is being Prepared in Vietnam

Hanoi, August 20 (Engineering Daily) -- The Prime Minister has approved the project of sustainable smart urban development in Vietnam in 2018-2025 period and it is scheduled to complete by 2030.

The objective of sustainable urban development in Vietnam is to promote green growth and increase the efficiency of resource use. The plan aims to build the legal foundation for smart urban development by 2020. In particular, to develop and pilot the implementation of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Reference Framework for Intelligent Urban Development

By 2025, the first phase of smart urban development will be implemented.

Oriented to the year 2030, the pilot phase 1 shall be completed, Specifically, to form intelligent urban chains in the North, Central, South and Mekong River deltas, taking Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho are the focuses to form the network of intelligent urban links.

Hanoi is pioneering in smart city development in the country with a smart city project on the road of Nhat Tan - Noi Bai, Dong Anh district, Hanoi. This project, invested by Sumimoto Joint Venture (Japan) and BRG Group with a total investment capital of US$4.2 billion, is scheduled to kick-start in October 2018.

According to information from BRG, the smart city will span an area of about 272 hectares. In the first phase, Sumimoto and BRG will invest more than US$1 billion on an area of 73.11 hectares. Currently, BRG and Sumitomo have completed legal documents and prepared financial sources for the investment.
