Hanoi, November 6 (Engineering Daily) -- The Danang People's Committee has requested to construct third terminal for the Danang International Airport.
On November 1, the Danang People’s Committee submitted a document to the Ministry of Transport of Dang International Airport's third terminal. It is designed by Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and simultaneously the mobilization of construction capital has been included in the document.
The outline of the plan has been disclosed. It is to accommodate 13 million passengers and handle 50,000 tons of cargo by 2020. Furthermore, the figures is estimated to rise by 28 million and 200,0000 tons by 2030.
The third terminal has been suggested for the concern that by 2020 both terminals, T1 and T2, at Danang International Airport are expected to be overloaded
In reality, Danang city calculates that the airport is likely to house 13.3 million passengers this year and the figure by far exceeds the city's expectation. In addition, passenger and cargo figures could accelerate by 10-20 percent on average per annum because of the speed.
While the third terminal is designed to have the annual capacity of 10-15 million passengers, the existing terminals would be upgraded.
