(Engineering Daily) Nguyen Anh Duong = The highway linking Ho Chi Minh and Dong Nai State begins a major improvement project.
According to Vietnamese local sources, Vietnam's Transport Ministry has approved the Ho Chi Minh-Dong Nai state highway expansion project.
The project is to expand the existing 24-kilometer four-lane highway into 8-10-lane roads.
In the case of existing roads, the design capacity was 44,000 units per day, but the actual usage is approaching 50,000 units, causing severe traffic congestion.
The Vietnamese government plans to start full-scale construction next year and spend $424.5 million to carry out the project by 2030. It expects to solve the severe traffic congestion after construction as well as demand for international airports where construction is scheduled.
